Would love it to be far more darker

Think evil, Breed evil….AND WREAK HAVOC ON ALL WALKS OF LIFE WITH AN ARMY OF DEMONIC IMPS!!

Don’t know what I’m talking about? then you have got to hear what I have to say about this blast from the past sensational game called Overlord on the Xbox 360. There is a lot to the story in this game so I will make it very simple. This is set in the olden days when there were peasants, kings etc where the last evil Overlord was killed by a band of wanna be heroes and trashed his tower, this is where you come in. Your job is to restore the tower, control the overlords army as your own and find and kill all of the heroes, taking their land for your own so eventually you will be the lord of the lands (classic take over the world sort of thing but it’s not as dull as it seems).

The gameplay is terrifically done especially seeing it’s a lot more different to other games, it’s a little more strategic. It’s an action fantasy game and you play as an Overlord obviously smashing peasants like a good old fashion slash em up game, but the real big thing this game has going for it is your army known as “minions”. You can also move and control them to loot, pillage, kill and do a variety of things. I love just playing around with the minions, it’s so much fun just to look around with them, smash stuff, kill things and even some other things that just add that extra finesse to the game. This is probably not a game you could just pick up and play at the beginning but once you’ve gotten the hang of handling the minions and yourself then you’re pretty much set, it’s an easy game to learn but it has all sorts of ways to play.

I Am Iron Man… Dah Dah Dee Dee Doo Dah IRON MAN!!!

Overlord was made by Triumph Studios and Code Masters and it was released in stores around 2007, so it’s pretty much 3 years old. In saying this I still think the graphics are really good. There isn’t really any blood but I wasn’t even concentrating on blood I was too blown away by all the other things. At the time and still now I loved the scenery, the buildings and just everything obviously it’s not as brilliant now because it’s an old game. I’m sure that you wouldn’t be disappointed with the graphics. One of the big things I love is the sound in-game and this beauty delivers tenfold. It has really awesome catchy music that is set for the time it’s in, it makes me just wanna sing to it as I explore this wonderful game. I also like the sound effects especially with the minions. They don’t just sit there and take orders they all speak now and then saying sometimes funny things and even make some funny sounds too, things like explosions and weapons clashing together it was pretty good. Once again a definite pass for sounds, this game I think is unmatched in the music part.

Look at the Serenity… Love the Serenity

One cool key feature was that it offered downloadable content like wallpapers, gamer pics all that good stuff, but it also had a download to the game called “Raising Hell”. I have played this and it is FANTASTIC! There is also multiplayer which I found fun to play but to be honest I found it more fun playing alone, I got allot of laughs out of online though. There were also some maps you could download for online play too, I played these and they are worth the Microsoft Points. So what do I think of Overlord? I THINK IT’S TERRIFIC! I want to say it’s perfect but I know there are some minor problems here and there, I haven’t even gone into detail on how good this game is I’ve just said the basics. If you don’t have the game I REALLY recommend you buy it because I still love it even today. I hope you consider at least renting the game… even though it’s a must buy, play the demo at least. Thank you Triumph Studios and Code Masters you truly made a masterpiece.
