Who wouldn't love the chance to go to HELL

The Puzzles get a little repetitive

What exactly happens to us when we die? Where do we go? And will we be judged for what we have done? This game explores were all the sinners go, to hell the blackest hell I’ve seen and it’s called Dante’s Inferno.

Dante’s Inferno is in fact based on the poem Dante’s Inferno written by Dante Alighieri. To make it as simple as possible while not ruining anything you are Dante a knight in a supposedly Holy war, you have killed many people and committed many sins, you return home to find your Father Alighiero and your wife Beatrice dead. But soon you see the big man himself Lucifer come and drag her soul to hell, you follow and thus begins this epic quest to rescue her. I know this sounds cheep but it REALLY pulls you in as you go, very good story indeed.

WOA!… your a big fella arent ya?

It plays just like a Hack and slash game, most newcomers will just ignore it because one look at it makes it seem like a God of war rip off. In my opinion that is a lie, this game has a much more different way of playing the game in fact I like this better than god of war. Anyway there are two ways to play this game, you can use this wicked scythe you collect from the very beginning from the grim reaper himself (try and guess how), or use a Cross you find from your wife Beatrice (my personal favourite) or have a combination of both. It has a sort of good and bad system, along the way you’ll have choices either to punish or absolve people. Punishing makes your scythe powers stronger and absolving makes your cross powers stronger, this is really cool, it also makes you really feel either like a good man or an evil death bringer. The difficulty on the lowest is pretty easy but on the hardest it’s almost unbearable luckily the achievements won’t be effected even if you play on easy, I advice playing on medium or maybe the next one up if you wanna challenge that is beatable for your average gamer. There is also some wicked collectables that strengthen your holy or unholy powers (Holy = Cross Unholy=Scythe). Playing this game right off the bat wouldn’t be too hard, at the very start it’s easy to get a hold of and they just turn it up from there, to me it’s quite easy to just pick up and play anytime. There is much more to the game but that’s the basics.

In my eyes the graphics look great, much better than your average game. Most of the games cut scenes are in a sort of cartoony/anime sort of style but when you get to the main cut scenes… honestly I’m blown away by how great they look especially the very last cut scene, truly the best looking cut scene of all time for me. But not singling out the other style of cut scenes in this game they also looked good and decent, they got the message across in lets say… a very colorful way, people who like anime style cut scenes will like them very much and if you don’t trust me they wont get annoying. There are also little cut scenes as you are fighting bosses and you must press buttons at the right time sort of like God of war, they look good too and would only get boring I think if you played it over and over again.

I DONT CARE IF YOUR DEAD THAT’S GOTTA HURT!

In Dante’s Inferno the Sound and music is not bad, they definitely did not ignore this part. It’s filled with especially awesome angelic and hellish music that really help set the mood for Dante’s Inferno. The sounds are pretty well done they didn’t feel fake they felt they fit every part of the game perfectly. This is the type of stuff you may find your self tapping or humming to the vibe , I like it.While I’m at it I loved the voice acting in this game I thought Lucifer was done perfectly and he always got under my skin, just how Lucifer should be. The main Characters voice sounded strong and intimidating I’d never want to mess with someone like him, Not to mention his fathers voice he really sounded great. Pretty much everyone else, like his wife Beatrice and his guide Virgil, sounded great too. Even the bosses like King Minos sounded tremendous, very good voice acting especially since they didn’t use any really popular voice actors.

The key features in this game are surprising. You can buy all sorts of things with Currency like more power ups, costumes, Levels and even an online feature just to name a few. Personally I’m disappointed they’re charging us to play an online feature of the game but it has got some extra little things thrown in there I think that makes it worth the money. There was also a DVD made of this game, I have watched it with a friend and we both thought it wasn’t bad, a few things puzzled me but I can definitely say the game is FAR superior to the movie.

I WILL PUNCH YOU IN THE SOUL!!!

I really want to say this game is perfect but all games have their little flaws. I thought this game had an outstanding storyline and not to mention it’s a very fun game to play. The music really got me in the mood to play it and the cut scenes really topped it all off for me. This is one of those games were if you have played it once you have seen most of it but I didn’t care I still had so much fun I still want to play it again, I really did find this a fun experience despite its problems. This game truly is a must buy for people who love Heaven VS Hell games or just love to play hack and slashers.
