BioShock Infinite came out back in March, and was undoubtedly one of the best games of the year. A lot of people, myself included, finished the game and then said “shut up and take my money”, signing up for the season pass to receive all the future DLC for the game. We are now in July though, and are yet to see a single piece of this DLC come out yet – so you have to ask yourself, where’s my DLC? I’ve had this conversation with 2 other people this week, so I figured I would put it out there for the world to read about as well.
The reality of the matter is that if you go and read the description of the item on the Xbox Live marketplace you’ll see that it mentions that all the DLC will be made available by March 2014 – yes, that’s right, March next year. So the reality of the matter is that they won’t be late for another 7 months or so. In fact you can see that Ken Levine put it out on twitter a couple of weeks ago that they are working on the DLC at the moment.
The thing here is that the DLC that is being worked on wasn’t even started until the game came out – which is in stark contrast to what happened with BioShock 2 where the DLC was actually shipped on the disc at launch and you still had to pay to unlock it. At the end of the day though, while I’m not overly happy about having to wait for the extra content, if they deliver DLC that is on par with the quality and experience they created with the main game then I’m still going to be happy and signing their praises. Lets just cross our fingers that the first of the three DLC pieces comes to us sooner rather than later though!
